Christopher Maloney has revealed his X Factor audition was the "best feeling ever".

The 34-year-old was seen wowing the judges last night after performing The Rose by Bette Midler at try outs in Liverpool.

Gary Barlow reacted: "34. How the hell have you kept that voice hidden till now?"

Louis Walsh added: "You stole the show today, nobody else is going to get that reaction."

And Tulisa gushed: "Christopher I am so happy that you got to sing that song for your granddad and I’m telling you that he is up there and he can see you and he is the proudest man in the world."

Speaking after the try out, Christopher said: "It went better than I could have ever imagined, it was best feeling ever, the comments were phenomenal."

He added: "I'm representing Liverpool on The X Factor.

"I want to do Liverpool proud. I love the city, I love the people, I love everything about Liverpool."

Meanwhile Christopher's Nanny Pat, his biggest fan, revealed she would be keeping her feet on the ground!

Asked if fame would impact her, the loveable gran joked: "I won't change!"
