The X Factor was watched by around 8.6 million viewers last night, today's overnight ratings show.
It was the third instalment of auditions from the new series, which featured performances from Manchester and Glasgow with guest judges Mel B and Anstacia.
An average audience of 8.57 million watched between 8:10PM and 9:10PM on ITV1 or caught up an hour later on ITV1+1.
It was down on last week's show, which saw an average audience of 8.8 million, including +1. The figures are also still some 2 million down on the equivalent episode of last year's series.
The continuing decline in viewing figures is sure to be worrying show bosses, who had previously blamed a spell of hot weather for the lower ratings.
However Tulisa said that she wasn't worried about the ratings at all.
Speaking ahead of the new series last month, she said: "Just because on the odd night here and there we dropped down one mill, it doesn't mean the show is in crisis. It's changed very much over the years and it was still the biggest show [last year] second to the Royal Wedding. I'm not worried about it at all."
Meanwhile on BBC One, 6.4 million viewers tuned in to the first episode of a new series of Doctor Who.
The two shows will clash next Saturday night, ahead of the return of The X Factor's main rival Strictly Come Dancing the weekend after.
