X Factor 2012: Nicola–Marie annoys Gary Barlow but makes bootcamp (VIDEO)

Nicola Marie (X Factor 2012)

Nicola–Marie split the X Factor 2012 panel on tonight's audition show, but managed to scrap through to bootcamp.

Auditions continued in Manchester with Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Louis Walsh joined by Guest Judges Mel B.

"This is the biggest thing I’ve ever done in my life, it’s like what, 34 years this is all I’ve thought about," Nicola-Marie said.

The 35-year-old works as a Amy Winehouse/Lady Gaga tribute act, but Louis Walsh seemed to think she was someone else!

He said: "You know who you remind me of? You remind me of Davina McCall, you look a bit like her."

After finally getting around to performing after chatting with the panel forever, Nicola-Marie sung Tell it to my heart by Taylor Dayne for the judges.

"Wow Nicola, oh Nicola, I don’t know if I liked that or not," Gary admitted. "It was a bit like the opening to a magic act or something. It’s just not current, it’s not now, people don’t do this."

Tulisa was also unsure what she thought about the performance: "In the beginning I didn’t like it…and then you did the splits, and now do I really, really not like it or do I actually want to see it again!"

Mel B however was won over immediately, and raved: "I don’t know what he’s talking about, I properly loved it, it was full on, yeah it is a little bit dated, so what, but you grabbed my attention."

And Louis seemed to have spotted his new favourite act, telling the other judges: "The thing about Nicola is she gave it everything."

But an unamused Gary hit back: "Guys, I don’t know what planet you two are on but I’m going to kick off the voting, I have to say I didn’t really enjoy the audition, I found it dated and ultimately I’d find you really annoying if you were in my category."

When it came down to the votes, Gary stuck with his no but with three yeses from the other judges it was through to bootcamp for Nicola-Marie.
