Simon Cowell is said to be "disappointed" by the quality of talent on The X Factor 2012.
Despite the show's judges touting this series to be the "best ever", so far viewers have been left somewhat disappointed.
And it doesn't help that the audition episodes are showing so little singing, with tonight's latest one hour instalment giving fans just 8 minutes of performances.
"He [Simon] always wants the singers to be bigger and better than the previous year," a source told the Daily Mirror today. "But that’s simply not happening. It’s almost as if the well of talent has dried up.”
But a spokesperson for The X Factor commented: “We’re featuring the same amount of singers in the audition shows as we did last year, but we believe the standard of talent is higher in 2012.”
Both Simon Cowell and Gary Barlow have hit out at the lack of talent on last year's show, blaming it for a disappointing series.
However last year's series was still watched by around two million more viewers than the current run.
The X Factor 2012 launched to 8 million viewers last month, the lowest ratings for the show in over five years.
Needless to say, we're sure to expect some changes in the coming weeks in order to win back viewers.
