X Factor 2012: Gary Barlow insists the groups are strong (despite us not seeing any yet!)

Gary Barlow (The X Factor 2012)

X Factor's Gary Barlow has insisted that the groups are strong again this year.

The Take That star even said he didn't think the judges would have to form groups at bootcamp to help boost the numbers, following the success of Little Mix last year.

The girls became the first group ever to win the show, and on Sunday scored their second number one track with Wings.

"I don’t know if we’ll have to put our own groups together this year," Gary told the Daily Mail newspaper this month. "The standards of the ones I’ve seen so far have been surprisingly high."

He added: "I’m very impressed and wouldn’t mind mentoring the groups this year."

However despite Gary's praise, we've yet to see a single group make it through to bootcamp on the main show.

Only duo Mia and The Moon, shown on ITV2 spin off The Xtra Factor, have been given a yes by the judges.

Let's hope we see some of these amazing groups soon, else one judge may be left without any acts to mentor!
