2bSteam impressed the X Factor 2012 judges with a cover of a Stevie Wonder classic during auditions in Manchester this week.
The 50-year-old from Holland appeared in front of the panel which included guest judge Mel B.
Speaking to Caroline Flack on the Xtra Factor before his audition, Steam revealed how he was already "well known" in his native Holland as well as Belgium, where he currently lives.
After performing Living For The City, the judges were won over by Steam's voice.
"I don't like to name drop," said Gary Barlow, doing his best Sir Tom Jones impression, "But I was with Stevie Wonder last night and he would have loved that version of the song."
Mel B added: "You're a really talented and experienced singer."
Tulisa raved: "You're a very unusual quirky character but you're also a good talent, I really enjoyed your audition."
2bSteam made it through to bootcamp with four yeses.
