X Factor star Curtis Golden has hit back at Mel B after she branded him "irritating"after his audition.
18-year-old Curtis got through to bootcamp on Saturday night with three yeses, but failed to impress the guest judge at the Manchester try outs.
Despite glowing comments from Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Louis Walsh, Mel moaned: "I found it all a little bit irritating, the overdoing the comedic personality thing, I found that irritating"
Speaking on Daybreak today, Curtis said: "I don't understand how you can be grumpy when you are getting paid to just hear people sing."
And he admitted he was shocked by the harsh response from Mel after positive comments from Take That's Gary.
"I thought Gary would be the hardest but it turned out to be Mel. I should have known she would have been nasty — she's Scary Spice!" he told the show. "It finally makes sense — she is Scary Spice because she is utterly terrifying!"
He continued: "They'd been saying all day that Mel B wasn't the nicest person there, but I was kind of telling myself 'Oh no, she'll be fine, she'll be lovely'. No."
Curtis, a fan of the Spice Girls, admitted he was "disappointed" with the remarks and added: "I didn't completely understand it."
