X Factor 2012 judge Nicole Scherzinger has said she won't be a mum to her acts.
The new star of the show's panel, who declared she was a 'scary bitch' on Saturday night's opening show, explained she'd give the hopefuls in her category freedom.
"We are not their mums – we are their mentors." she said.
Fellow X Factor judge Tulisa this morning said she'd be taking a tough approach to her acts.
The N-Dubz star, who was performing at V Festival yesterday, said: "Everyone knows that with my acts I will crack the whip. But I also make space for play-time. Last year I took my acts out clubbing.
"It’s not meant to be a gruelling military operation. You are meant to be fulfilling your dreams and you have to enjoy that."
Tulisa also defended Frankie Cocozza after he got the axe from last year's show after his partying antics got out of hand.
"Frankie was over at my dad’s house with Dappy [her cousin and fellow N-Dubz star] the other day, so that says it all. What were you doing at that age? What do you expect? Everyone needs to enjoy themselves," she said.
