Gary Barlow's odds of managing this year's X Factor winner have already been slashed by Ladbrokes ahead of Saturday's series opener.
After being handed the over 28s category Barlow was initially chalked up as the 5/1 outsider, but after an unprecedented amount of bets in the last week the Take That man has been cut to 3/1 to mentor the first overs winner since Steve Brookstein.
It's new girl on the block Nicole Scherzinger who's leading the troops as the 13/8 favourite with the boys, or there's a 2/1 chance it's back-to-back victories for Tulisa with a solo female artist this year.
Unfortunately for any groups hoping to emulate the success of Little Mix it's 9/2 that a band is crowned winner under Louis Walsh's wings.
And as the judging panel received another shake-up in 2012 it's odds-on at 4/6 that it's all change again next year, and after nearly a decade on our screens it's just 7/4 that ITV pull the plug on X Factor in 2013.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "Barlow's credentials speak volumes and the money suggests if there's any one who can mentor the overs to victory, it's him. Boys have a great track record of winning but the pressure's on Nicole to face the music as the favourite."
