21-year-old Jahmene Douglas is seen swapping the shop floor for the stage on tonight's first X Factor 2012 auditions.
The Asda worker from Swindon shocks the panel with his huge after voice and timid personality.
Jahmene admit before singing: "I’m a stay at home kind of guy, I don’t mingle very well"
His choice of song is rather cliche, audition favourite At Last by Etta James, but it seems that it was a choice well made.
"You know what, you are a revelation, you’ve got The X Factor, this is what we’re looking for. I think a star is born," gushed Louis, checking off yet more cliches in the series opener.
Tulisa raved: "You have not just The X Factor, not just raw talent but you have the shock factor. When you stepped on the stage you were like a timid little soul and you couldn’t express yourself, but you started expressing yourself the minute you started singing and it was freaking amazing!"
And Gary Barlow praised: "Mate, I got to tell you I’ve never seen a vocal performance like that before, that was off the scale. You completely nailed it today. That is how to do an audition."
But this is The X Factor and it's not all about the voice.
It's over to the judges to deliberate whether they think Jahmene has what it takes to make it in the competition.
