The Voice UK finalist Tyler James has claimed that the show's format is too boring.
Speaking to The People this weekend, Tyler admitted that The Voice lacked the production values of [cat]The X Factor[/cat].
And he also suggested that the coaches should've been more harsher and honest with the contestants.
“The Voice is being criticised and it’s not good," he told the newspaper. “There is nobody on there for a joke or nothing to cringe at like you get on the X Factor. There was also nobody being talked down to like on the X Factor.
“Everybody on the show could sing. All four of the mentors were really encouraging and helpful. It’s different from the X Factor.
“On The Voice it is more about the singing.”
Tyler may not have won the show but he has signed a new record deal with Universal label Island Records, and will be releasing a new album later this year.
But he said: “It bugs me that people know me from that show.
“I want to be known for me, not for The Voice. I’ve been very, very lucky. Some of the other finalists have gone on to do nothing really."
He added: “The Voice did change my life.”
A second series of [cat]The Voice UK[/cat] airs next year on BBC One.
