The Voice UK finalist Tyler James has signed up to Island Records, the label that Amy Winehoue had been signed to.
It's also the same label that Tyler had originally had a record contract with back in 2005, but while his pal Amy went on to huge success, Tyler struggled in the charts.
Now back in the recording studio and preparing for a second shot at success, Tyler said: "I’m loving being in the studio – but can’t wait to share the music I’m making with the people who have helped me get to this point.”
Tyler is currently set for a one-off show in London later this year, with tickets on sale now.
He said: “Performing live is always exciting as I just love being in the moment with the crowd.
“Being London born and bred and performing in my home town is the best way to start and I hope to see the rest of the UK soon.”
We previously reported how Tyler was working with coach Will.i.am on his new album, due for release this autumn.
