The BBC have rubbished rumours that Sir Cliff Richard is to join The Voice UK panel.
The People had claimed that Sir Cliff was set to appear in the new series next year after "early" talks took place.
The newspaper quotes Sir Cliff as saying: "It’s still early days but there’s been a conversation and I’d be silly if I didn’t think about it.
"The Voice is a terrific show and the format really interests me, particularly the blind audition. It's definitely something I would like to do."
And he suggested that he would be joining the series as a fifth coach.
"If a deal is done and I appear on the show, I hope I don’t replace any of the current judges as it would be great to work with Tom, Jessie, Will and Danny O’Donoghue," he told the tabloid. “They all seem really nice, talented people with a vast range of experience in different areas. I think we’d work well and complement each other."
But a spokesperson for the BBC tweeted: "Despite reports to the contrary, there are no plans for Cliff Richard to join #TheVoiceUK."
