The Voice UK 2012: Our favourites from the first live show

Frances Wood

The Voice UK live shows kicked off last night with Team Tom and Team Will's artists taking to the stage, and here were our top three favourites.

Picking three from the ten performances last night was difficult, as none of them were awful (unlike Sam's latest shirt), but here were the people we couldn't get out of our heads this morning...

Frances Wood

We love Frances so naturally we loved her performance. Now it wasn't the best, vocally, of the night, but regardless of what the show's PR team may want us all to think, it's not just about The Voice. The charts aren't about the voice. Heck, even Radio isn't about the voice, as those who have heard Cheryl Cole in the live lounge will testify to.

Frances however has - to use an X Factor phrase - the whole package. She can sing, dance, and has a rather brilliant personality. She reminds us a bit of Cher Lloyd, only that she can sing, dance and has a brilliant personality.

Jaz Ellington

Jaz Ellington's voice is amazing. The tone to his vocals is lovely and we really can't get enough, we're sure to be buying his album when he gets signed, there's no doubt in our minds he will.

Despite At Last being a talent show cliché of a song choice, Jaz made it his own and arguably gave the best performance of the track seen on one of these types of shows.

Ruth Brown

HOLY CRAP.
