The Voice UK: Frances Wood, Kate Read put friendship aside to battle

The Voice UK hopefuls Frances Wood and Kate Read put their friendship to one side on tonight’s show as they do battle.

The pair’s coach reveals why he put the duo together: “I paired Frances and Kate because they remind me of me, both of those girls would’ve been down with us when we started the Peas.”

But the Black Eyed Peas star is quick to remind the pair that they will be fighting one another during their performance.

He warns: “This ain’t the get along gang, this is mortal combat.”

But there’s tension and jealousy when Will takes Kate to his studio to help her improve her voice.

And Frances admits she’s put off as Will continues to praise Kate’s unique voice.

It leads to an amazing performance, as the pair sing Ironic together for the coaches.

Frances declares: “Me and Kate get on very well but I ain’t gong to think of us as friends for now, I’ve go to go in there and get what I want.”

See if she can manage it when The Voice UK battle rounds conclude at 7:30PM on BBC One tonight.
