The Voice UK: Ben Kelly 'confident' ahead of battle with Ruth Anne St Luce

Ben Kelly (The Voice UK)

The Voice UK artist Ben Kelly has said he is confident going into the Battle Rounds tonight.

Yesterday saw the first nine acts go through to the The Voice UK top 20 finalists, and tonight we'll see if Ben joins them.

"The Battles are pre-recorded, so I’m just eager for everyone else to see what I’ve already done," Ben says.

The Northern Irish singer, who will be dueting with Ruth Anne St Luce, went on: "Going into the Battles I was confident, and excited to do another performance really.

"I got a great song – one of Jessie’s favourites in fact – and it shows a different side of me – something more fun, and colourful!"

Asked why he chose Jessie in his blind audition, Ben told GossipDrip: "It was a close call between Jessie and Will, but I went for Jessie because she’s got a voice that’s most similar to mine stylistically; she’s a great songwriter; and she’s so relevant and current right now, I feel I have a lot to learn from her."

The Voice UK continues on BBC One at 7:30PM tonight
