The Voice UK helps John Legend’s Ordinary People to score its highest ever chart position

Becky Hill - The Voice UK

John Legend’s Ordinary People is set to score its highest ever UK chart position, thanks to The Voice UK.

The track was performed twice on last weekend's blind audition show, first by [tag]Becky Hill[/tag] and again by [tag]Jaz Ellington[/tag].

The song was co-written by coach, who was seen welling up after the two performances of the 2005 hit.

The track re-entered the top 40 last week, less than 24 hours after the show had aired, and sales of the song have continued to remain steady throughout the past seven days.

Figures from the Official Charts Company show that the track is currently up to Number 3, and likely to score its highest ever UK chart position when the full charts are announced on Sunday.

John Legend’s album Get Lifted has been helped by the show, and looks set to re-enter the official Albums Chart at Number 18.
