Ruth Brown has said that she feels she did her dad proud with her Voice UK audition this weekend.
The teenage singer wowed the coaches with her powerful vocals, joining Team Tom after a performance of Kelly Rowland’s When Love Takes Over.
"I was a bit nervous at first but after I got into it, and when I finally opened my eyes, I saw Tom had picked me," Ruth recalled this week.
She went on: "I think Tom is going to help me with my voice in general, in terms of making it stronger.
"His career has been successful for a long time so he's got a lot of knowledge that I need."
Speaking before her audition at the weekend, Ruth said she hoped to do her dad justice, after he passed away in December.
After the performance, Ruth said: "It just feels unreal, it doesn’t feel like it’s happened now
"I feel that my dad is proud."
