John Legend's Ordinary People climbs the iTunes chart after The Voice UK performances

Jaz Ellington - The Voice UK'Ordinary People' by John Legend has hit number 2 on the iTunes chart after it was performed by Jaz Ellington and Becky Hill on The Voice UK last night.

The song, which was co-written by show coach, peaked at number 27 on the UK Singles Chart when it was originally released in 2005.

But sales have surged since it was featured on the BBC talent contest, and at the time of writing it has leapfrogged Fun's global hit 'We Are Young' to take second place on the list of top selling singles on the Apple music store.

Legend's debut LP 'Get Lifted' - which includes the track and peaked at #12 in 2005 - has also climbed to number 4 on the iTunes album chart.

Hill sung Ordinary People for her Blind Audition in yesterday's episode, and joined Jessie J's team after the 'Price Tag' singer and Will spun their chairs.

Ellington later performed it at Jessie's request following an emotional scene which saw him bag the final place in this year's series, on Will's team.

The Voice's success has also given a boost to its very own Danny O'Donoghue, with his band The Script's eponymous first album rising 53 places to return to the official Top 40 last Sunday.
