The young performer, who was seen singing Kelly Rowland hit When Love Takes Over, revealed how her dad passed away last December.
"I know that my dad will want to give it my everything," she said. "[But] I'm really nervous, really nervous. I have no choice but to be the best I can be."
The teenager wowed with her powerhouse vocals, but only Sir Tom and Will.i.am had space on their teams.
Ruth joined Sir Tom, with the Welsh legend the only coach to press his buzzer.
He explained: "Anyone with lungs like that has got to be something, you're a great sing and that's why I hit the button."
Although she didn't - and couldn't - press her buzzer, Jessie added: "Your voice is in sane and I love your style."
Off camera, Sir Tom remarked: "I hear something in that girls voice that I haven’t heard in a long time."
