The estranged father of Voice UK artist Bo Bruce has said he hopes the show will help them to get their relationship back on track.
Bo, real name Lady Catherine Anna Brudenell-Bruce, appeared on last night's audition show and joined Team Danny.
The 27-year-old singer, daughter to the Earl of Cardigan, said she didn't want to be known for her posh upbringing, having spent years trying to make it alone by gigging in pubs and clubs.
Bo has been estranged from her dad for seven years, but today he said he hoped the BBC One show would help them repair their relationship.
He said: "I knew she was going to appear on The Voice so I’ve watched every show with keen anticipation.
"I’m rooting for her and I hope it will open doors for her. She has a fabulous voice."
However a source told Daily Mail today that Bo doesn't want to hear from him.
"Bo has made it clear she doesn’t want anything to do with him," the insider said.
Friends of Bo revealed that between gigging, Bo has been struggling to car for her mum who is ill with cancer.
"Her mother is battling a very serious condition and Bo spends a lot of time at her bedside. She’s had to juggle between this chance to make her name and the need to be with her mother," the source added.
The Voice UK continues this weekend.
