The 32-year-old has already tasted success in 2002, having had a record deal with Universal Music that saw him release three singles and even perform on Top Of The Pops.
But performing Closer by Ne-Yo on the show this evening, Cassius was hoping that the coaches would allow him to have a second go at chart success.
Jessie J was first to turn around, followed by Danny O'Donoghue.
"I turned around because there was something in your voice I heard that I really liked," Jessie told him.
But Cassius found it hard to pick between Jessie and Danny.
Offering a not so helping hand, Will.i.am chipped in: "I know I didn't turn around but Jessie is amazing, Danny is amazing... but one thing about Danny is he's been hanging around with the Timbalands producing and doing everything for years.
Jessie however hit back: "I've been signed for seven years, this industry is about learning who you need around you. Someone who knows how to on a stage.
"You need someone who is doing it right now"
Forced to make a choice, Cassisus told the coaches: "Alright, the name that's coming off my head is Jessie."
