Allyson Brown (The Voice UK)

29-year-old Allyson Brown was controversially turned away on The Voice UK tonight, with Jessie J admitting that she should've pressed her buzzer.

Allyson, who revealed she had previous won a MOBO award for best unsigned act 1998, has previously appeared on TV shows including Secret Diary Of A Call Girl and soap Doctors.

But singing is her main ambition and, Allyson hoped that her performance of Somebody Else's Guy would get at least one of the coaches to turn around.

Danny turned around at the end of her performance with his head on the desk, telling her: "You have a fantastic voice, you have one hell of a career ahead of you.”

Will.i.am meanwhile said that he was willing Jessie to press her button.

He explained: “I didn’t turn around because I was wishing Jessie would turn around. That knowledge Jessie has.”

23-year-old Jessie admitted: “I should've pressed my button.”

"This is about coaching, I was going 'You should’ve done have that’ all the way through."

She added: "You’re that girl that I’m always going to wish I turned around for."

But an optimistic Allyson told the panel: "Do not worry, thank you hearing me sing today."
