Voice UK hopeful David Julien has revealed a battle with obesity that almost stopped him from audition on the show.
David was seen performing Script track The Man Who Can't Be Moved on Saturday night, winning over the band's lead singer Danny O'Donoghue and joining his team.
But the Matt Cardle look-a-like confessed he was so self-conscious about his appearance, he only plucked up the courage to show off his voice because the coaches weren't looking at him.
He told The Sun: "I think the nerves might have got the better of me if I had to stand there and look right at them."
David, who has lost almost 5 stone recently, went on: "I'm still not a skinny guy. I still feel self-conscious about my size so it was nice that they weren't able to see me.
He added: "I'd never have done X Factor or Britain's Got Talent, but this was different to any other show. That crucial first impression is made just through your voice, not how you look, and that's what appealed to me."
