Despite all four of the show's coaches turning around for him, The Voice UK star [tag]Ben Kelly[/tag] described his audition on the show as both "daunting and horrible".
We saw Ben last night decide to join Jessie J's team over Will.i.am, Danny O'Donoghue and Sir Tom Jones.
The 22-year-old revealed: “The blind auditions were very daunting.
"I didn’t see the set up at all until the moment I walked onto the stage to see these four chairs facing away from me.”
Performing a piano cover of Elton John hit Rocket Man, Ben impressed the coaches enough for them all to press their buzzers and turn around.
But he explains: “It was quite horrible.
“You have to go out and give perhaps the best vocal performance of your life and hope that one of these incredible titans of music turns around.”
And for Ben, to have all of the coaches turn around for him was overwhelming.
He adds: "Even to have one coach turn around - that was amazing. It did bolster me to keep going - to keep singing. It was if I was receiving validation for everything I have done up until this point - all the hard work I’ve put in. To have the seal of approval from those big names...it was brilliant.”
The Voice UK continues next Saturday on BBC One.
