Simon Cowell has said he "couldn't care less" if Cheryl Cole appears on The Voice UK later this year.
The X Factor boss insisted he had no problem with the former reality show judge appearing on the rival series, following rumours she was to promote her new album on the live shows.
The Sun reported last week that Cheryl would be amongst the various guest performers being lined up for the later stages of the competition.
But despite claims that the plans had annoyed Simon, he said this week: “Cheryl singing on The Voice? I couldn’t care less.
"If she thinks that’s the right show for her to put her single on, then I haven’t got a problem with it at all."
He added: "Ever since she sent me that birthday message saying, ‘Simon Cowell is 52 ha ha’, and flew it over a plane in Miami it broke the ice.
“I’m still very fond of Cheryl. I wasn’t disappointed when she tweeted that she won’t go back on the X Factor because if she wanted to do it she could just call me.
"I’d work with her again in a heartbeat.”
The Voice UK launched to a huge audience of over 8.4 million viewers on Saturday night, and continues this weekend on BBC One.
