The pair, who both have careers in the West End, admit in this evening's opening episode that it might be rather awkward if one gets picked and not the other.
Max, whose credits include lead roles in stage productions of Footloose and High School Musical, will be seen performing for coaches Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue when The Voice kicks off at 7PM tonight.
In order to progress to the next round, Max will need to convince at least one of them that his voice is good enough and encourage them to press their buzzer.
Among the other artists appearing this weekend are Sean Conlon, former member of boyband 5ive, alopecia sufferer Toni Warne, and Jessica Hammond, who tries to make an impression on coach Jessie J by singing her number one single 'Price Tag'!
The show starts at 7PM on BBC One.
