Cheryl Cole has reportedly agreed a deal to appear on The Voice UK live shows later this year, performing her new single.
The former X Factor judge revealed she had put the finishing touches to her third album last month, and was already preparing to record a video for her lead single.
But it's sure to annoy Britain’s Got Talent boss Simon Cowell, who will be going head to head in the ratings with the new BBC One series on Saturday nights.
"It's great news as we've made no secret of the fact we love Cheryl," a source told The Sun.
"But obviously Simon will be annoyed as he hates The Voice."
The deal was unsurprisingly helped by Voice UK coach Will.i.am, who is Cheryl Cole's manager. Speaking at last month's press launch, Will said that Cheryl was welcome on the show, and it'd be her choice whether or not to perform.
“It depends if she wants to do it,” Will said. “If that’s what she wants to do, we’ll do it.”
Cheryl recently announced that her new album, expected to include collaborations with David Guetta, Will.i.am and Rihanna, will include a song titled This Is War.
The Voice UK starts on Saturday at 7PM on BBC One and will run through until May.
BBC boss Danny Dohen previously confirmed that the series would feature guest performances, with rumours including Madonna, Robbie Williams and of course Cheryl.
