In an interview with heat magazine, Radio 1 DJ Reggie wanted to make it very clear to us just how credible the new BBC one series would be.
He said: “This feels like the first Saturday night show that’s cool and credible. It feels really fresh.
“It’s not fair to compare it to anything else, but I don’t think there have been many talent shows that have been as credible as this."
But Reggie then went on to compare to other shows, adding: “Look at the coaches, look at the talent – all credible. We haven’t got any jokers or jugglers or anything like that.”
A music talent show without jugglers, that's quite credible indeed.
But it’s the show's coaches - Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am and Danny O'Donoghue - that help make the show "cool".
Quite literally it seems, with Reggie revealing of Sir Tom: “He has this amazing aura around him and he doesn’t sweat.
"It’s amazing. I’m the biggest girl around Tom Jones. He’s bloody cool man. He’s the Silver Bear.”
Reggie went on: "The blind auditions are also a brilliant element because you’ve got Will.I.am trying to get the good singers to choose him by saying he worked with Michael Jackson, while Tom Jones emphasises he’s sold hundreds of millions of records.”
Will be watching the very credible Voice UK this Saturday?
