Confirmed: The Voice UK to start on BBC One on March 24!

The Voice UK

The Voice UK is to start on BBC One on Saturday, March 24, it has been confirmed this morning.

The new BBC One reality telly series will kick off in just under three weeks time, with coaches Will.i.am, Jessie J, Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue at the helm.

They'll be joined by hosts Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates on the music series, which features budding performers taking part in blind auditions.

Hopefuls come onto the stage in silence, performing while the coaches sit with their backs turned. If a coach likes what they hear, then they can press their buzzer to signal they want that singer on their team.

And in a twist, if more than one coach wants a singer, it's up to the auditionee to decide, so expect plenty of dirty tricks from the panel to win their support!

The news of The Voice UK's air date comes after reports this morning suggesting that Britain's Got Talent 2012 will return on the same night.

The Simon Cowell reality juggernaut, which this year will see new judges Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, will also be starting on March 24, The Sun claims.

A source at ITV told the newspaper: "We haven’t declared our launch date but, if I was a betting man, I’d go for March 24.

“The BBC know we always launch BGT around this time. If anyone is parking tanks on a lawn, it’s them on ours!”

Meanwhile be sure to visit TellyMix next week as we host a special The Voice UK launch! Every day expect new content in the run up to the new series, including interviews with the coaches, pictures and video.
