Danny O'Donoghue says The Voice UK won't see "novelty acts"

Danny O'Donoghue (The Voice UK)

The Script star Danny O'Donoghue has revealed that The Voice UK will make a point by not featuring any novelty acts in the show's auditions.

The BBC One music contest kicks off next month, with Danny joining Jessie J, Will.i.am and Tom Jones on the panel of coaches.

“I’m so excited about it, I’m like a giddy kid. The quality of talent on the show is unbelievable," Danny told the Daily Star Sunday today.

He added: “There aren’t any novelty acts.

"And there are lots of people who have auditioned who’ve said they wouldn’t audition for X Factor for fear of being ridiculed.”

The Voice UK will kick off on BBC One on Saturday Nights in March.
