The Voice UK: Olly Murs in talks to return for third series - but has one demand

Olly Murs

Olly Murs says he's already in talks to return to The Voice UK next year.

Olly rose to fame as a runner up on The X Factor in 2009 before joining The Voice for the first time in 2018.

Now after winning his second series with contestant Molly Hocking at the weekend, Olly is eyeing up a third year in the spinning red chairs.

But he has one demand, telling The Sun newspaper: "There have already been negotiations in regards to my return to The Voice next year.

“Obviously I won this year — there will be heavy negotiations for a bonus next year, that’s for sure.”

Olly - who got naked to celebrate his team's victory on Saturday night - went on to say he wanted to help Molly try and become the first big success story from The Voice.

"I can’t guarantee Molly is going to be a No1-selling artist. It all comes down to Molly’s vision and her creative team," he said. "I will 100 per cent be there with her every step of the way.

"If she needs me she can call me and speak to me.”

While Olly is looking to return to The Voice UK next year, not all of this year's coaches may be back in 2020.

Jennifer Hudson has hinted she could be forced to quit the series due to her schedule.

Recently cast in a film adaption of stage musical Cats as well as Aretha Franklin biopic Respect, Jennifer has a very busy year ahead.

“You know, I am an actress as well. It’s kind of going into film season for me,” she told the Radio Times magazine. “I was thinking that I truly, truly love this and that’s why I’m three seasons deep in.

"I want to continue it, but I don’t know that my schedule will allow me to. But we’ll see.”

Jennifer has been in the spinning red chairs for three series since first joining in 2017.

If Jennifer isn't back for a fourth season, her fellow coach Will.i.am has a suggestion on who could replace her.

He put forward Cheryl, saying: “I haven’t seen her in, like, six years face-to-face – ever since she was with Liam [Payne]. I just saw her last week and it was a good reunion. She’d be good.”

Alongside Jennifer, Will and Olly, Sir Tom Jones completed the current line up of coaches.

The Voice UK has been running for eight series now after first debuting on BBC One in 2012. It moved to ITV in 2017.

Emma Willis hosts the show, which typically begins in January.
