US star Cee Lo Green is reportedly set to sign up as a judge and coach for new BBC One reality talent show The Voice. The programme, which is set to rival ITV1's reality giant The X Factor next year, is also after Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole for the series, the Daily Star reports today.
Cee Lo already appears on the US version of The Voice alongside singer Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. The show became a hit in the US, even competing with American Idol for the top ratings.
Moving to the UK next Spring, the Dutch TV format - created by Big Brother boss John De Mol, is looking for talented musical stars to sit on the panel.
Cee Lo Green confirmed to the newspaper today: “I have been offered the coaching gig. I plan to take it. We just have to work out a schedule that is not completely overbearing.”
BBC bosses are also said to be after former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole for the new series.
Robbie Williams, Adele and Dannii have all also been linked to the show, which is set to start in January next year.
