The reality star made the announcement on ITV’s Loose Women in a chat with host of the singing show, Emma Willis.

Katie told Emma: “I’m actually going to do The Voice next year.”

Emma reacted: “Are you?!”

Katie confidently declared: “I am and I don’t care telling you. You want to know why? I get so much stick about my singing – when I know I can.

“If the judges turn round for me I can be like ‘there you go they turned round for me’.”

She added: “I am going to do it and it doesn’t matter me saying it as they won’t see me anyway. I am 100% doing it.”

That’ll be one blind audition to watch out for in 2019…

For now, The Voice UK 2018 continues this weekend.

Former X Factor finalist and host Olly is joining The Voice UK as a coach alongside Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson.

Olly said on signing up: “I’m absolutely buzzing about being a coach on The Voice UK and can’t wait to sit in the big red chair alongside will, Jennifer and Tom. I’m excited to mentor new artists and without doubt, I’m in it to WIN!”

The 2018 series continues Saturday nights on ITV.

As always, budding performers will perform to the backs of the panel and if a coach likes what they hear they can press their button to spin around and select that act for their team.

But if more than one coach turns then things get interesting as it’s over to the singer to pick which team they join, prompting pitches, tears and drama as the coaches compete for the strongest line up of performers.

The Voice UK airs Saturday nights on ITV.
