The Voice UK is coming back to ITV in 2018 with a few changes.

The second of a three series deal will see The Voice UK back on ITV in 2018 from next month (January)

The Voice UK 2018 will launch on Saturday, January 6 on ITV with the blind auditions and some things will be slightly different this year.

The Voice 2018 judges

Firstly, Gavin Rossdale is gone and pop sensation Olly Murs is joining will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson as The Voice 2018 judges.

Olly – who has notched up four UK No.1 albums and four No.1 singles - found fame on fellow ITV talent show The X Factor, coming second in 2009, and has since gone on to sell more than 17 million records worldwide.

Olly said: “I'm absolutely buzzing about being a coach on The Voice UK and can't wait to sit in the big red chair alongside will, Jennifer and Tom.

"I'm excited to mentor new artists and without doubt, I'm in it to WIN!"

That controversial blind audition twist returns

On the BBC series, once an audition was over, all the chairs turned so the coaches who didn't hit the buzzer still saw acts and offered them advice or reasons why they hadn't spun.

But on the ITV version, if no coach presses their buzzer then the contestant leaves the stage immediately without ever interacting with the panel.

It will be back in 2018, despite Will.i.am being vocal about not being a fan of the move previously: "I don’t personally like that change. If there are no turns that person walks away with no feedback... Even when no one liked our demo when we were shopping it they gave us criticism on how to improve.

“From that, it changed my writing. I was like ‘I’m going to be the hook man’. It changed my perspective. The contestants won’t get that."

There's a new digital host

Former finalist on The Voice UK Jamie Miller will join the new series as a backstage host, it's been revealed. Jamie made the live shows on The Voice in 2017 and now ITV has revealed he'll return in the new year as host for The Voice UK's digital platforms

Since appearing on the show, Jamie has signed a US recording deal with Atlantic Records, home of Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Bruno Mars.

He said: “I'm so excited to be back, but this time on the other side watching people achieve their dreams. The Voice UK was always something so close to my heart so to return as the backstage reporter is incredible!”

He'll be joined on the hosting team by Emma Willis, who is back to front the main show.

The Voice UK 2018 begins Saturday, January 8 on ITV.
