Gareth Gates has said he wants to be a coach on The Voice UK.
In a chat with star magazine, the Pop Idol star says he’d love to come full circle and sign up as a judge on a reality show.
“It’d be terrific if I had that opportunity,” he told the magazine.
Gareth went on to rule out rumours he was taking part in Strictly this year, saying: “I did Dancing On Ice in 2008 and I think there’s an unwritten rule that you can’t do Dancing On ice and Strictly, so maybe not that.”
But he did reveal hopes of popping up on TV in another way, saying: “I’d love to be on Emmerdale. I’d also love to do Benidorm, it’s so funny!”
The coaches on The Voice UK next year have yet to be confirmed, but Will.i.am has said he wants to see Cheryl join the series.
The long-term coach on the singing competition reckons it would be "dope" to sit alongside Cheryl in the spinning red chairs.
Will, who is currently a coach on The Voice Kids spin-off on ITV, said: “It would be dope to have Cheryl on The Voice.
“That would be cool. It would be pretty cool for us to work together.”
And the Black Eyed Peas star told the Daily Star newspaper: "Someone should do that. She would be awesome on The Voice she would be right at home.
“It’s her type of thing actually.”
The Voice UK will return to ITV in 2018.
