A contestant on The Voice UK 2017 reportedly risks facing the axe from the show over 'unwise' drug comments.

25-year-old Kit Rice appeared on the show at the weekend, singing Ain't No Sunshine by Bill Withers in the final round of blind auditions.

On the show, Kit revealed he was ready to chase his dreams of the big time, after building a strong online fan base. Classical violinist Kit realised he wanted to be a solo vocal artist after performing with none other than The Voice's very own Sir Tom Jones.

With bags of confidence, Kit took The Voice UK stage by storm and while Sir Tom didn't turn, Kit did get both Gavin and Jennifer spinning for him.

Kit became the tenth and final member of Team Jennifer, but has now found himself in hot water after comparing performing to taking heroin.

The Daily Star newspaper quotes Kit as saying: “My aim is that my audience leave feeling inspired and loved.

“I share with my audience my life and soul. It feels like heroin. One hit and you go back for more until you die or your legs fall off.”

The tabloid claims that Kit 'risks the axe' after the comments came to light, assuming he makes it any further through the competition.

A show source told the newspaper: “Kit admits it was an unwise way to describe his music"

They added: "He doesn’t condone drugs.”

The Voice UK continues this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.
