The Voice UK 2017 contestant Gavin Ellis has a surprising TV past.

The 30-year-old from Chorley appears on The Voice UK's blind auditions tonight, singing for a spin from one of the four coaches.

He performs Eric Clapton’s Tears In Heaven while backstage his wife Gemma Gordon cheers him on.

Gavin is in fact no stranger to appearing on the telly, having found love on Take Me Out and actually married his love match from the show.

Gavin and Emma were the first ever couple to marry off the back of the dating show and four years on from meeting Gemma in 2013, Gavin is now a happily loved up stay-at-home dad.

Speaking in 2015 about the relationship, Gavin said: “I can’t believe how it all turned out,” Gavin told the Mirror in 2015. “If someone said two years ago that I’d meet the love of my life, be marrying them and expecting a baby, I would’ve told them to go away.

“I just thought it would be a laugh. Falling in love with Gemma is so exciting but it took me by surprise. I’m just really glad I went on the show.”

However Gavin dreams of a career in music though and says he needs a break before it is too late.

Will one of The Voice UK 2017 coaches be able to help that dream get the start it needs with a spot in the next round?

The Voice UK 2017 airs tonight at 8PM on ITV.
