Gavin Rossdale looks to ex-wife Gwen Stefani for inspiration on The Voice UK.
But while it's his first time in the chair himself, Gavin has experience on The Voice in the US as a battle advisor to Gwen.
The pair married in 2002 after first meeting in the 1990s however got divorced in 2015.
Gavin revealed: "She didn't give me any advice about joining The Voice but she said congratulations and good luck.
"When I watch her on the how, it seems like such an easy thing for her to do, she's so great at it."
The Bush frontman explained that appearing alongside Gwen on The Voice US in 2014 proved tough.
He said: "I was taken aback by how emotionally connected you get to people when you are in there and see what it means to them to have been chosen. You just can’t help being emotionally invested.
"You can look at it from a distance and underestimate it but the truth is that when you are up close and personal with them your heart bleeds because you are human."
Gavin went on to suggest however there were some differences between the American version of the show.
"I heard a lot of singers on the American version who I wouldn’t have chosen myself. I am really thrilled to have the contestants I have on the UK show," he said.
The Voice UK 2017 blind auditions continue this Saturday night at 8PM on ITV.
