Let It Shine tipped to continue lead over The Voice UK in ratings

Let It Shine is being tipped to continue it's ratings dominance over Saturday night telly rival The Voice UK.

A new ratings war has begun between The Voice UK and Gary Barlow’s new show Let it Shine last weekend: Battle one of the ratings war happened last weekend and saw Let it Shine, which airs on BBC, win, pulling in 6.3millions viewers.

The Voice UK recorded its lowest ever launch night figures as it premiered on ITV, having moved from now foes BBC. On 6 million viewers the Voice UK was just 300,000 short of Let it Shine, but more worryingly 1.1 million viewers down on last year’s launch night on the BBC.

As we look to this weekend, Let it Shine is odds on at 1/2, with bookies BoyleSports, to continue their ratings domination on Saturday night with the Voice UK expected to fall short of the mark again at odds of 6/4 to win the battle.

Aoife Heffron from the bookmakers commented “The Voice UK is already feeling the sting of their move to ITV from BBC as they are 1.1 million viewers down on last year’s premiere show. Not only that, but Gary Barlow’s Let it Shine happily swooped onto the BBC and beat them in the ratings.”

She added “It isn’t looking good for the Voice UK this weekend either as they are 6/4 to win the ratings battle on Saturday with Let it Shine red hot at 1/2 to dominate yet again.”

Let It Shine airs this Saturday night at 7PM on BBC One while The Voice UK airs at 8PM on ITV.
