The Voice 2017: Meet tonight's contestants in the first blind auditions

The Voice UK 2017 contestants

Here's a spoiler-filled preview of the first blind auditions from The Voice UK 2017.

It's the opening round of try outs from the sixth series tonight as the show moves to ITV.

Paloma Faith Boy George and Ricky Wilson have gone from the panel while Sir Tom Jones is back alongside

Joining the veteran coaches are newbies Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale.

Once again the four coaches have their backs to the stage so can only base their decision to hit the button and spin their chair on what they hear.

Every artist must hold their nerve as each coach creates a team of talented artists using every trick in the book (including plenty of name dropping) to persuade the very best acts to join their team.

This year there is a new "cruel" twist to the format, with acts who don't get any judges having to leave the stage immediately without speaking to the panel, who will remain with their backs turned.

In tonight's bumper opening episode we see nine acts go before the panel but which of them will get a spin?

The Voice 2017 starts at 8PM tonight, Saturday January 7 on ITV.
