The Welsh singer was controversially axed by the BBC for this year's fifth series, the last to air on the channel.
When ITV took over the show they were quick to invite Sir Tom Jones back and he was quick to say yes.
Sir Tom said after signing up: “I’m looking forward to returning to my big red chair on The Voice UK.
"I had some great times on the show and I can’t wait to again discover and help some brand new talent. And of course be back with my pal will.i.am.”
Speaking at the launch of the show, Sir Tom said it was an easy decision to come back.
"Once we had the meeting, I talked to the people, what they were going to do with it, I was really pleased I was asked to do it," he said. "I enjoyed doing The Voice before, it's something different.
"Coaching other singers is something you don't normally do as a singer. I've always joyed it so I was pleased to be asked back."
On The Voice UK next year Sir Tom will be reunited with Will.i.am while Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale join the pair on the panel.
Sir Tom said: "Jennifer Hudson, she's a great singer, a very warm person and she's going to give that warmth and experience to the singers.
"Gavin's from the rock world so I think the four of us have something different from one another so I think it's a great mixture."
"From what I've seen, the producers, I think it's going to be great," Sir Tom concluded.
The Voice UK 2017 will launch on ITV on Saturday, January 7 at 8PM.
