The Voice UK Kids coaches
As the rumours had predicted, pop sensations Pixie Lott and McFly’s Danny Jones join will.i.am as coaches on ITV’s The Voice Kids, a brand new search for Britain’s best young vocal talent.
Pixie said: “I can’t wait to join The Voice Kids and help discover the next big star. I have such a passion for talented young people and I know the UK will have lots – I can’t wait to hear them!"
Danny said: “I’m pumped about joining The Voice Kids team. There are so many talented kids out there, they just need to be heard and this is a great platform for them. I’m looking forward to finding some fresh talent and coaching them. You never know, there might be a mini McFly out there!”
will.i.am said he couldn’t wait for the two British stars to join him on the panel, adding: “Doing The Voice Kids with Pixie and Danny is going to be dope and I'm really excited to discover just how talented British kids can be."
Meanwhile, Emma Willis will host of the show.
How does the show work?
Just like the main show, the Kids version kicks off with the Blind Auditions, with each coach needing to fill a team of 12 singers.
After each performance, all the coaches’ chairs turn so they can give feedback and encouragement, even if they didn’t press their buttons.
Those that make it through the auditions head into the battles. The Voice UK Kids sees three way Battles as the group of acts sing off for one place in the semi-final.
And there are no steals on The Voice Kids – meaning no second chances for the coaches.
The final four acts in each team then sing in the semi-final for a spot in the spectacular live finale – with viewers choosing the ultimate winner.
The prize is £30,000 towards the winner's music career and a family trip to Disneyland Paris.
