The Voice UK 2017: Tom Odell is latest name rumoured to become a coach

Tom Odell could join on The Voice UK 2017 on ITV, it's been claimed.

The chart topping musician is the latest rumoured name to be joining the show when it moves channels next year.

Although the series doesn't begin until January, filming will start very soon and so we should expect an official announcement about coaches soon.

So far only has been confirmed for the series while Emma Willis has been revealed as host.

Now The Sun newspaper reports that show producers have approached Tom Odell to get him on board.

"They want more credible names and ratings draws," a source said. “Producers have had a number of discussions with him, but have spoken to others as well.

“It’s not a done deal yet but they’d love to have him on board.”

“They think Tom ticks both boxes."

Other names linked to the first series of The Voice UK on ITV include former coaches Sir Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue and Rita Ora as well as new faces Jess Glynne and Jennifer Hudson

A spokesperson for ITV said: "Any rumours surrounding the coaching line up is pure speculation, and we will be confirming our coaches in due course."

The Voice UK will air on ITV in the new year.
