Ricky Wilson will NOT be on The Voice UK on ITV (at least for now!)

The Voice - Episode 1

Ricky Wilson has said he will NOT be joining The Voice UK On ITV next year.

However the Kaiser Chiefs' star, who was on the BBC panel for three years, won't rule out a return in the future.

So far only Will.i.am has been confirmed for The Voice UK 2017 next year, which will be the show's first series on ITV.

Sir Tom Jones has also been rumoured to make a return having been cut from the panel last year but Ricky won't be back.

He said this weekend: “It’s changed me. When I did it I was trying to hide who I was.

"I was quite good at having this other persona but on TV you can’t edit out who you are and you become more honest and a bit more relaxed.

"It’s who I am and there is no point in trying to change that.”

Speaking to The Scottish Sun at T In The Park, where he was with his former winning act Steve McCrorie, Ricky continued: “I really enjoyed it.

"Tom’s going back and Will is going back but I will leave it fallow like when they don’t do Glastonbury for a year.”

The new series of The Voice UK, which will be hosted by Emma Willis, will begin filming later this year to air from January on ITV.
