The Voice - Episode 12

The Voice UK winner Kevin Simm has begun writing his new album.

The champion of the final series on BBC One has hit the studio his week to pen tracks for his new solo record away from former group Liberty X.

It'll actually be Kevin's second album having previously released one called 'Brand New' back in 2008.

Kevin tweeted on Monday: "So , the writing of my album has begun, and it's been a very productive day"

He added yesterday: "Great session today," revealing he is working with Scottish songwriter Jim Duguid who has previously helped create tracks including Alex Clare's Too Close and Paolo Nutini's Last Request.

Kevin also told fans he was in the studio with Starsailor front man James Walsh having signed to Universal Music after winning The Voice UK.

Earlier this year Kevin made his chart debut with winner's single All You Good Friends, an original track which charted at Number 24.

There's no release date for Kevin's album yet with past winners of The Voice putting out their music anywhere from October to the following May after the final.
