The Voice UK winner Kevin Simm sold 24,000 copies of his single

The Voice - Episode 14

The Voice UK 2016 winner Kevin Simm shifted just over 24,000 copies of his debut single.

All You Good Friends charted at Number 24 in the Official Top 40 last week after 5 days on sale.

It was the first ever winner's single from The Voice UK to be an original track and has become the second best debut of any winner from the past five years.

The week after they won, Series 1 champ Leanne Mitchell's Run To You was at Number 45, in 2013 Andrea Begley managed Number 30 with My Immortal while 2014 winner Jermain Jackman got to Number 75 with And I Am Telling You.

Last year Stevie McCrorie had the most success yet with his cover of Lost Stars officially charting at Number 6.

Kevin sold 24,300 copies of his single which compares to the figure of 40,000 for Stevie's debut track last year, although that was over a full seven days.

Notably, Kevin's track was at Number 4 in the charts based purely on sales with streaming of other songs pushing its overall Top 40 placing down twenty spots.

Elsewhere in the charts this weekend, The Voice UK coach Will.I.Am was in the Top 75 with his new single Boys & Girls at Number 44 after singing the track with his finalist Lydia Lucy in the live show.

It's the first time since 2014 that Will has been in the charts and makes for his 45th overall entry.
