Kevin Simm says Ricky Wilson has been "awesome" both on camera and behind the scenes.
The Voice UK finalist is on team Ricky for the live shows after being stolen in the battle rounds when Paloma Faith sent him home.
It now seems as though the switch has been for the better with Kevin saying this week: 'He's brilliant, Ricky's awesome.
"He's exactly as you see on the television, as soon as you meet him it's like you've known him forever."
Kevin added: "He's been telling me just to be myself, don't worry about anything."
Speaking on ITV's Lorraine yesterday, Kevin said of deciding to audition for The Voice UK last year: "I think firstly I just love singing and then I sort of came to a weird place in my life.
"I turned 35 and I had a gut feeling I had to try something."
And he revealed that his former Liberty-X bandmates had all been "really supportive".
"We've always stayed in touch and remained very good friends," Kevin explained. "When I told them I was doing the show they were really supportive and behind me."
Having originally had "small expectations" from the show, Kevin's now keen to go "as far as he can" as the live shows start tomorrow night on BBC One.
Kevin is on Team Ricky with Chloe Castro and Jolan.
The Voice UK continues Saturday night on BBC One with the first of the live shows.
