The Voice 2016: Kevin Simm feels more at home on Team Ricky

The Voice - Episode 9

Kevin Simm has admitted he feels more "at ease" with Ricky Wilson on The Voice UK.

The super talented singer switched teams in the battle rounds having originally chosen Paloma Faith's team back in the blind auditions where Kevin got all four coaches spinning around.

In the battles, Paloma sent Kevin home after battling Faith Nelson before the ex-Liberty X star was stolen by Ricky.

At first, Kevin confessed he wasn't sure about changing teams.

"It means going into a team where you don’t know anyone and you haven’t got a relationship with the coach," he admitted. “After Ricky stole me it took me a long time to digest it. I couldn’t take in that I was still in the competition.

"I had to have a couple of pints to make sense of it all."

Having had those pints, Kevin thinks in hindsight the move was probably for the best.

“When I first decided to go for The Voice Ricky was the coach I thought I’d want to go with," he revealed. "It was just that at my audition I went for Paloma because I’m a sucker for a woman giving me compliments.

“So now I actually feel more at ease with Ricky."

Kevin explained to the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: "Paloma was amazing but I always felt she might be drawn to the more flamboyant members of the group.

"Whereas Ricky is a down-to-earth northern lad. I just feel like he believes in me a lot. I think it’ll be easier to speak to him and stuff like that.”

Tune in to The Voice UK tonight on BBC One to watch Kevin singing for his place in the live shows.
