Cody Frost has been installed as the early favourite to win The Voice 2016 UK after the first round of blind auditions.
Cody closed the first round of the try outs last night and blew the coaches away and is the early frontrunner at 10/1.
She was the only act on Team George but it leaves him as the front runner despite having struggled to pick up singers for his team.
While it is very early in the series, let's not forget that Louisa Johnson was in the exact same place last year and went on to win.
Meanwhile, Aine Carroll from Cork is flying the flag for Ireland and impressed Paloma, George and Ricky Wilson with her rendition of Karmin’s ‘Brokenhearted’. The 16-year-old chose to join Team Ricky and is currently the second favourite at 12/1 to win.
Bingo caller Brooklyne Richards makes up the rest of Team Ricky after the first auditions, but is the larger price of 33/1 to win.
Beth Morris opened the show and got all four judges to turn for her, but opted to joining Team Paloma and went into the betting at 16/1. Also joining Team Paloma was Dwaine Hayden after a velvet performance of Norah Jones’ ‘Don’t Know Why’ and is a 20/1 shot.
Fish Monger Tom Rickels was Will.I.Am’s first team member and can be backed at 25/1. Will’s second conquest of the night was 46-year-old beatboxer Lyrickal, who is the 40/1 outsider.
Aoife Heffron from BoyleSports said: “Cody Frost closed the show in spectacular style and turned out to be Boy George’s saving grace as she was the only one to pick him as her coach. She is the early favourite at 10/1 with Cork’s Aine Carroll also posing a threat.”
She added “Although there were some strong performances, no one has separated themselves from the pack just yet, with no single figure contestants at present in the betting.”
